Every Time That Flag's Unfurled, They're Coming to America
José, can you see, by
the dawn’s early light?
Just kidding, that’s not how the song goes, but the flags
were definitely gallantly streaming this weekend. The Hendros of Aliso Viejo,
California decided to go up to Utah for Independence Day weekend, which was
filled with pleasant activities, enjoyed also by the Hendros of San Clemente.
Friday night we journeyed up the perilous ski lift of Sundance under the
haunting glow of the full moon. The chairs creaked up towards the sky, each
groan threatening to drop us down to doom in the tall, dark pine trees below.
OK, so it wasn’t that dangerous or creepy, but riding with
Mom made it seem that way (just kidding Mama). We also floated down Provo River
on the Fourth of July and completed the night with a visit to Stadium of Fire!
The fireworks were amazing, and all the performances, including Journey’s musical
works were on fire (get it? fireworks).
On the way up to S.L.C., we stopped in St. George to sleep
and to walk around the St. George temple.

It’s Mama Lou’s birthday! She celebrated by waking up very
early to take me to a consultation for my wisdom teeth (which get to come out
soon, yippee), but don’t worry, we celebrated after with some yummy breakfast.
Taking me to a teeth appointment early on her birthday is just one instance of
the example of service my mama is to me.
Megan has been in London for a few weeks, and even I’m
enjoying the pictures she sends me. These iconic London ones are my
fave.
Miss and love you so much(: you're writing is so good!
