Hendrickson Homestead

Concerning the going-ons of the Hendrickson Household

The exciting and stimulating conversations between me and my beloved sister Corrie:
Corrie: “Can I unfollow you on Twitter since you never post?”
Jamie: “Some emojis I don’t even know where they are on the regular keyboard because they’re so often on my recently used keyboard.”
With this addition from Luke: “Jamie, I think when you came home from college, you said too many puns.” I don’t know about you, but I think these puns are certainly not a subtraction to my humor!

The final elementary school Open House for the Hendrickson family occurred last Thursday.  Luke showed us around his fifth grade classroom, and we even got to hear his honors chorus sing, my favorite song they sang being “California Dreamin’” of course.

Realizing a tender mercy is scooping your nightly ice cream without having to strain your arm.  Most likely because the ice cream wasn’t completely frozen.  You pretend that it’s because of your superior arm strength after going to the gym for the first (and only) time that day.

And finally a Neil Diamond concert that will be talked about for ages.  Surprising grandma (a fellow Neil lover) with not only tickets, but also her other daughter and her family visiting from Arizona, was almost more exciting than the concert.  I didn’t have to neil on my knees to beg my mom to take me, too.  I did throw off the age average a little bit at the concert, for Neil is 74 years old, but he definitely is still a diamond in the rough.  I knew (almost) every song he sang (no shame), and sang along to every one.  The two drunk men sitting next to me quite enjoyed the concert in holy holly-wood, too (my excellent pun referencing one of Neil’s songs Holly Holy).  I’m a believer in Neil Diamond being an excellent singer, for this live concert was so good! so good! so good! (referencing two other songs “I’m a Believer” and “Sweet Caroline”) I could keep going, but I’ll stop there.  Too bad Neil Diamond won’t be alive when I’m a grandma, because I would love my grandchildren to take me.
